Kristin LiaBraaten, CD(DONA), HCHI, HBBE

I assisted at my first birth at the age of 3, when I assisted at my baby brother’s homebirth. I have been hooked ever since, even sculpting the human uterus and developing baby in the 3 trimesters of pregnancy in my 7th grade pottery class!

I have a BA in English Literature and worked in book publishing and event planing before my first pregnancy and beautiful unmedicated birth reignited my passion for birth. I am now a DONA-certified birth doula and childbirth educator through Birthing & Beyond, as well as a certified Hypnobabies childbirth hypnosis instructor and hypno-doula, and served as 2008 president of the Central Oregon Birth Network. . I also teach Babywearing Classes and Certified & active Happiest Baby on the Block Educator.

I specialize in hospital births, providing traditional birth doula and/or hypno-doula care for natural births, induced natural births, VBACs, first-time and repeat births, and support for medicated births and c-sections.

As a doula, I don’t bring my own personal agenda to birth. My purpose is to support and encourage and empower parents to experience their birth their way, so I find out what you want and then bend over backwards and sideways to help that happen! I love to educate and empower and nurture pregnant women and their families.

Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oils: I also love to educate families about the benefits of therapeutic-grade essential oils. I exclusively use Young Living therapeutic-grade essential oils. You can learn more about essential oils and see my personal product recommendations at my Young Living page!

I am a Christian Doula and a member of The Fellowship at Bend (TFAB).

Anne Carlson and I co-founded Harmony Doulas in the spring of 2010. The name 'Harmony Doulas' and our tagline, 'professional doulas providing hospital birth support with compassionate hearts' are inspired from Colossians 3: "Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility meekness, and patience... and... put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. "
