 Kristin LiaBraaten, CD(DONA), HCHI
I assisted at my first birth at the age of 3, when I assisted at my baby brother’s homebirth. I have been hooked ever since, even sculpting the human uterus and developing baby in the 3 trimesters of pregnancy in my 7th grade pottery class.
My first pregnancy and beautiful unmedicated birth (assisted by my doula mom and fabulous husband) reignited my passion for birth. I am now a DONA-certified birth doula and childbirth educator through Birthing & Beyond, as well as a certified Hypnobabies childbirth hypnosis instructor and hypno-doula, and 2008 president of the Central Oregon Birth Network.
I specialize in hospital births, providing traditional birth doula and/or hypno-doula care for natural births, induced natural births, VBACs, first-time and repeat births, and support for medicated births and c-sections. I also provide hypno-doula support for home-births.
As a doula, I don’t bring my own personal agenda to birth. My purpose is to support and encourage and empower parents to experience their birth their way, so I find out what you want and then bend over backwards and sideways to help that happen! I love to educate and empower and nurture pregnant women and their families, and am honored to be the first person to bring Hypnobabies to Central Oregon. Working with pregnant and birthing women and their families is my passion!
